Founded in 2012, Carbonleo now employs more than 150 people, who work on our various projects in the Greater Montreal area, including:

ROYALMOUNT, Montreal’s newest shopping, dining, and entertainment destination, where connectivity, creativity, and sustainability converge in an incomparable way. THE POSITION

The Vice President, Finance and Investments is a key member of the executive leadership team and plays a strategic role in the company’s growth and financial performance. The incumbent oversees all financial activities, including financial planning, risk management, compliance, real estate project financing, and resource optimization. Acting as a strategic business partner to the President and senior leadership team, the Vice President supports decision-making and helps maximize the value of the real estate portfolio.

RESPONSABILITIES

Strategic Leadership and Governance

Define the company’s financial vision and contribute to the execution of the corporate strategic plan;

Advise senior management on financial matters, investment opportunities, and risk management;

Oversee financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

Financial and Accounting Management

Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports;

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations applicable to the real estate industry;

Optimize accounting, billing, rent management, and project cost control processes.

Financing and Capital Management

Structure and negotiate financing arrangements for real estate projects, including construction, acquisitions, and refinancing;

Manage relationships with financial institutions, investors, and external auditors;

Develop and oversee complex financial models to evaluate project and portfolio profitability.

Performance Analysis and Management

Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to profitability, cash flow, and operational performance;

Analyze budget variances and recommend corrective actions;

Support development, construction, and property management teams through financial analysis and strategic guidance.

Risk Management

Identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and market risks;

Oversee insurance coverage, contract management, and legal obligations related to real estate assets.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting, investment, and asset management teams;

Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field;

CPA designation required; MBA or specialized real estate training considered an asset;

10 to 15 years of experience in finance, including several years in a leadership role;

Significant experience in the real estate industry, including development, construction, and asset management;

Strong expertise in project financing and financial modeling;

Excellent knowledge of the full accounting cycle;

Proficiency with Yardi software;

Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently;

Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines;

Adaptability and ability to perform effectively under pressure;

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;

Excellent organizational and priority management abilities;

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment;

Ability to manage multiple priorities and a high volume of responsibilities;

Customer service-oriented mindset.
